Elops

The Centaurus Racing Team presents Elops, designed for participation in the international Formula Student competitions.

Mechanical Design

• The Elops framework is lighter and stiffer compared to previous models, maintaining the type structure spaceframe made of high-strength steel. Through extensive structural simulations (FEA – Finite Element Analysis), a significant reduction in overall weight was achieved without compromising safety.

Engine & Performance

• Elops is powered by a single cylinder 4-stroke engine, according to the regulations of Formula StudentThe intake, exhaust and mapping system (ECU tuning) has been developed and optimized in-house by the team, offering improved throttle response, reduced fuel consumption and consistent performance throughout the race.

Transmission & Driving Dynamics

• Power is transmitted through chain σε mechanical limited slip differential (LSD), allowing for consistent acceleration and improved cornering control. The double wishbone suspension system with adjustable shock absorbers It has been designed with racing stability and excellent response to course changes in mind.

Lightness & Aerodynamics

• With a strong focus on mass reduction, Elops features extensive use of composite materials (such as carbon fiber) in parts such as the engine cover, the driver's seat and the aerodynamic aids. The aerodynamic philosophy of the single-seater is based on simplicity and efficiency, with basic elements such as front wing and diffuser, which have been optimized with CFD simulations.

Electronics & Telemetry

• Elops is equipped with digital data collection system, allowing real-time recording of parameters such as engine temperature, speed, rpm, oil pressure and more. This data is used for tuning, troubleshooting and race strategy.
