When? | The beginning of the Formula Student Competition was in 1981 in Texas and in 1982 began to expand with the participation of a university from Mexico.
Today the competition takes place in many countries around the world and every classification is in a worldwide level.
What preparation is required? | The universities that will decide to take part in a formula student competition should design and manufacture a single seated formula student race car. The preparation though does not stop there! The team must ensure the best performance of the race car in the dynamic events while the members of the team must be fully prepared for the static events of the competition!
How are the teams scored ? | All the teams are graded with their participation in the static and the dynamic events. The maximum points that a team can have in both is 1000 points.
Which are the static events? | The static events are the business plan presentation (75 points), the design presentation (150 points) and the cost and manufacturing event (100 points)
Which are the dynamic events? | The dynamic events are skid pad (75 points), acceleration (75 points), autocross (100 points), endurance (325 points) and Efficiency (100 points).
